Rick Miles Hardwood Floors, Spirit Lake, Iowa

Rick Miles has been involved with the building industry at various levels since 1975. Shortly after moving to Spirit Lake in 1990, he began this business with refinishing and installing hardwood floors, operating out of his home. By 1992, Rick also started installing ceramic tile, primarily floors and kitchen backsplashes.

The business grew to the point that it needed more space, and, in 1994, it moved to its first commercial location in Spirit Lake, Iowa. In 1995, being intrigued with how to polish the edges of granite tiles, Rick found himself purchasing equipment to do just that. Before long, he was fabricating and installing granite countertops.

By 2005, the business outgrew its Hill Avenue location and moved into its current location in Spirit Lake, IA. This consisted of purchasing three different buildings and combining them into one facility.

After some major renovation, they were able to build a state-of-the-art granite fabrication shop and a design showroom, thanks to the extra space in the new location.

In 2010, the next natural growth phase was to include kitchen and bath cabinetry.

Currently, the company offers complete kitchen and bathroom products and services, including renovations and new construction.
