1950: Jim Maybrier Sr. founded Maybrier Furniture in the same location we are today.

1968: Jim Jr. bought out his father and grew into a flooring store only. Maybrier furniture was relocated to 2171 S. Broadway. It remains in the Maybrier family today ran by Jim’s other son, Bruce. It has been renamed Jim’s Furniture.

2014: Jim Jr. steps aside and his son Chris taked over the day to day operations. Jim Jr. still oversees decisions made on the companies behalf and plays a large role in the company.

The family knew it was inevitable, soon, they would need to make a plan to expand and grow with the ever-changing environment around them. For 10 years they saved and planned. In 2014 they had accumulated all the properties around they needed and broke ground with Evans Building Company to see their extensive planning and saving coming to a full circle. From 16,000 square feet (spread across several smaller buildings) to 40,000 square feet, they were able to expand into more than just a flooring store. Harry Street Carpet remained open while the construction and chaos were happening all around them. From a furniture store to a carpet store, the Maybriers have held strong in the flooring business. After many recessions, struggles, and changes; they are leaders in their field. They rely on word of mouth and client returns as their main choice of "advertisement".

Advertising little since 1950 and staying strong all these years says a lot about the integrity and appreciation of Harry Street Carpet.

Even though a once very small company expanded into a much larger more modern facility, it is and will be handled the same as it was in 1950.
